Kind
Kind- To be kind is the act or the state of charitable behaviour to other people. It is considered to be one
of the Knightly Virtues, and is a recognized value in many cultures and religions. It is considered to be one
of the seven virtues, specifically the one of the Seven Contrary Virtues (direct opposites of the seven deadly
sins) that is the direct opposite to envy.

According to book two of Aristotle's Rhetoric it is one of the emotions which is defined as being
"helpfulness towards some one in need, not in return for anything, nor for the advantage of the helper
himself, but for that of the person helped".

Paul defines love as being `patient and kind...` (I Corinthians).

Besides making the world a better place in which to live, being kind to others can also be very beneficial to
your sales career in many ways.  First and foremost, being kind to everyone that you meet makes life more
enjoyable and will make you a happier person, and after all, isn't being happy really what life is all about?  If
you make some money and build a nice life-style as a result then that's an added bonus.  In the second
place, once you get a reputation as a kind person, people will be more apt to want to do business with you.
You'll get more repeat business and more referral business.  In addition, kindness is the one attribute
most necessary to successful networking, and networking is the one activity that is most necessary to
successful selling.  Always remember the old adage that the best way to get what you want is to help other
people get what they want.

The longer that I live, the more people that I encounter that believe in Karma.  Karma can best be defined
as "what goes around, comes around".  If you treat people with kindness, your kindness will come back to
you in multiples.  If you treat people with disrespect and disdain,  you will encounter disrespect and disdain
in return.  I know people personally that are millionaires that are miserable.  I mean just miserable.  They
hate people and people hate them.  They have more money than they will ever be able to spend.  They fly
around in private jets to watch their racehorses on week-ends.  But during the week, they live lives of
misery.  How can they not see the forest for the trees?  They can keep their money and their misery.  To be
overly committed to amassing money and possessions is gross miscalculation of the meaning of life.  No
one will ever be on their death bed wishing that they had spent more time amassing wealth.  You might
wish that you had spent more time with your children or with your friends and family.  You might wish that
you had spent more time golfing or fishing or gardening or some other enjoyable activity.  Yes, it's true that
money can provide you with more options, but it can also consume you with preoccupation.

If you can shift your paradigm from amassing wealth and money to amassing friends, kindness will be a
natural result.  Wealth and money are perceived as finite resources, yet our government can print as much
money as they want.  Kindness on the other hand is an infinite resource that you yourself can produce
without limit and give away in abundance.
